The 'Death' of bloggers...Part 4...

March 21, 2017

The discussion of the top 5 regrets Bronnie Ware heard from clients/patients in her many years working in Hospice palliative care...continued...belatedly...

4) I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

People often only realized the full positive benefits of having long time friends when it was too late. Life happens in such a way that it is easy to lose track of those really rock solid friends, those who have been with you through a challenging experience, or long time friends from back in the day that you saw on holidays.

Bronnie heard many regrets from people about not giving friendships the time and effort they deserved. She stated that "They wanted to get things in order more for the benefits of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage the task. It all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships".

I want to add however that not all friendships and especially long time friendships are healthy, positive or in the best interest of either friend. I often hear people saying they don't know why they're friends with a particular person, so why are they then?

Many times its old loyalties or lack of other friendships or even a lack of belief that they could make other friends. If you have an unbalanced friendship you will be aware of it, that friend that always leaves their wallet at home, the one that never returns your calls...until they need something from you, the friend the often drops you last minute for something/someone else...the friend that...etc.. etc...

Sound familiar? Remember that you are worth way, way more than that, remember that you are deserving of only the best of friends, and don't get confused between acquaintances and friends, and be the best friend to your friends that you can be...

Thanks for reading my blog, please share copiously...;)))
